Themed Meetings
Nottingham Racecourse holds 21 race days throughout the season, including 1 Arab Horse Race Meeting, from April to November so you've got plenty of choice for a great day out.
Construction Days = Tuesday 15th April & Thursday 16th October
Over the past 10 years Autumn Construction Day at Nottingham Racecourse has established itself as the key networking event for the construction industry and related services in the East Midlands.
The Autumn race day has always been popular with facilities sold out well in advance, so rather than turn clients away we've introduced a Spring Construction Day. This year the Construction Race Days are to be held on the following days:
Spring - Tuesday 15th April
Autumn - Thursday 16th October

Countryside Night = Saturday 19th April
Our Countryside Night meeting includes 6 races plus a number of other entertainments such as a sheep dog display, interactive falconry display and plenty of shopping opportunities.
If you've ever wondered what an eagle has for lunch, this is your chance to find out!
On Countryside Night we've got the following activities planned:
- Sheepdog Display
- Falconry interactive display
- Per Ardua Beagles
- John Deere tractor display
- Young Farmer's competition
- Countryside Tradestands
Who knows but you may even buy a tractor whilst you're here!
Intercasino Derby Trial Day = Wednesday 23rd April
The richest race day ever staged at Nottingham Racecourse looks set to live up to the occasion when the BBC Cameras make their first ever visit to join race goers at Colwick Park on Wednesday 23rd April.
The entire card has been transferred from Epsom while the home of the Derby undergoes redevelopment work and £90,000 in Prize Money is on offer with the entire card generously sponsored by Intercasino.co.uk.

Arab Horse Race Meeting = Saturday 18th May
Following on from last year's successful inaugural meeting, Nottingham Racecourse will be once again hosting the Arab Horse Race meeting on Saturday 17th May.
The one price, one enclosure policy means you get all the fun of a traditional flat meeting, including

- Bookmakers
- Refreshments
Gates will open to the public at 12 noon, with the first race at 2pm.

The timetable for the City Life Ladies' Night is as follows:
- Gates open : 4.20pm
- 1st Race : 6.20pm
- Last Race : 9.20pm
- Abba tirubte band perform : 9.30-10.30pm
- Event Closes : 11.00pm
Come racing and enjoy the craic with all the luck of the Irish on our first Irish Night. We've got lots of Irish themed promotions going on from a Guinness promotion to an Irish themed bands and you can have a little jig with our Irish dancers.
Family Fun Day = Saturday 12th July
We always have lots going on for Nottingham Evening Post Family Day on Saturday 12th July. Along side the afternoon of racing we've got lots of entertainment from bouncy castles to a circus workshop.
School's Out Day = Friday 15th August

Picture this competition - Your chance to win a VIP day out at the races!!
CHILDREN are being given the chance to have their pictures and drawings published in the racing day programmes of Nottingham Racecourse.
All they have to do is draw or paint a picture about horse racing in an easy and free to enter competition, and send it to the racecourse.
The overall winner will win a VIP day out for their family at the School's Out Day at Colwick Park on Friday 15 August, and his or her picture will be re-produced on the front and back cover of the raceday programme.
The runners-up in the competition will have their pictures published inside the programme.
Every entry will be put on display at the racecourse, and all entrants will be sent a complimentary admission ticket to the racecourse on the School's Out Day.
The competition is divided into 3 age groups:
- Under 8 year olds
- 8 - 12 year olds
- 13- 16 year olds
The winners of each category chosen by the racecourse after the closing date of 25 July will go into the final from which the overall winner will be selected.
Schools are being encouraged by the racecourse to get children to submit their entries.
Pip Kirkby, the racecourse’s managing director, said: “This is a fun way in which children can become involved in the sport of horse racing, and have the chance of winning a VIP out at the races for their family.”
Children should send their drawings to: Picture competition, Nottingham Racecourse, Colwick Park, Nottingham NG2 4BE.
They will be able to collect their pictures again from Monday 18 August.
